Linked/Whole Team skills
This thought just randomly came to my head.. I'm sorry if someone posted this already. Here's the idea:
If anyone played Chrono Trigger, you will pretty much get the point what I'm saying here.
In pvp battles where people choose their teams. Perhaps there should be double, triple, or even quadruple character skills. Here's an example...
An E/x and an R/x combine skills to rain arrows of fire on their enemies.
However, in order to be able to use such skills, all of the involved characters must have the skill in their skill bar, they have to be a certain distince from each other, and it will take a little longer to cast.
JUST IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES! This would make every class even more important, require more teamwork (someone will have to prevent an interuption or interupt), add TONS of more skills to the almighty GW skill list, and will make PvP even cooler than it is already.
Oh, and maybe GW can let people host servers for giant PvP matches such as 8v8, or maybe even a 10v10 or 12v12.
I haven't played the PvP mode but I have played PvP in PvE and I really enjoy it. However, if it was 8 people instead of 4, the game would get even crazier.
Just my $.02

GW does have an 8v8 match up in the Tomb, not to mention it used to go to 8v8v8v8v8v8, six teams, at least we had to fight like yellow, red, green, purple, and I think teal or something when we were blue (won it twice), hopefully it still gets that massive.
Personally, instead of those duo and trio attacks, which were great in Chrono, I'd like to see a few more definitive combination kind of abilities for people to use. There are some definites people can use themselves, but this is a short supply, and it would be nice to find more abilities that are used under special conditions just around.
The problem with these kinds of attacks is, obviously they are powerful, but there are already some incredibly powerful attacks out there, and then having wasted skills slots when no one else puts theirs in or never notices will cause even fewer to hold em, not to mention if you have too many people will be a mess of these duo and trio abilities, else it will become quite the normal tactic instead of a special advantage and the novelty will wear off I believe.
Maybe ritual spells which require a few more people to activate, they create like a rune circle (kind of like a ward) and interactive elements an ally has to use, aka click on and sit there, which empowers it, rather than requiring this, and would be rather apparent as an obvious area not to be in. This way, it is never wasted, and can lend itself easily to more tactical groups.

This would be awesome.
Here's two ways I think this could work.
Say you have two skills "Chop" and "Slash"
Chop:
"Stance. If a nearby ally uses 'Slash' within 5 seconds, you both perform an X-Strike and this stance ends."
Slash:
"Stance. If a nearby ally uses 'Chop' within 5 seconds, you both perform an X-Strike and this stance ends."
They could be based on different attributes, or the same one. Or it could just be one skill, that's only useful if it's equipped on other people.
Or the skills could be useful on their own, but more useful in a set:
Fire Attack Skill
"Spell. Target enemy takes X fire damage. If you cast it on an ally, instead treat it as an enchantment that lasts X seconds and augments the Slash skill (by Z)"
Slash
"Sword Attack. If this attack hits you strike for plus Y damage. If you are enchanted by Fire Attack Skill, you do additional fire damage."
The only problem is that they might be a little tricky to word and get the whole picture this way.

Thats really awesome man. I haven't made a PvP only character, and I really can't wait until I do.
About the ritual spells, that sounds like an awesome idea. It will definitely increase the motivation for Monk Primaries. And I agree with you that some attacks are indeed very powerful. Perhaps a health increase in the expansion would fix the problem, but of course that may screw up some of the game's balance.
And the special conditions idea is great. Perhaps envioronmental traps, etc.. can be brought (Think Super Smash Bros.) in GW. Other than just stepping in a lava pit and being set on fire.
Also with the duo, trio, etc... skills. Perhaps it can be similar to an Elite skill, where you can only have one in your skill bar. I agree that it could be abused, but it highly motivates people to use teamwork even more and adds variety in the PvP arena, provided that there would be a lot of these "multi-person skills", and the amount of people, their classes, and the teamwork would all be greatly affected so nobody can go "solo" and succeed very well.
Some more defensive skills would make killing people a little more challenging and would require a little more strategy. Many characters have great defensive skills (especially earth elementalists) however people like to think offensively first. I would rather see two teams with a great defensive strategy battle instead of two teams blowing the hell out of each other with a killer offensive strategy.
By the way, after posting thsi thread, I did notice that someone made a similar thread called "Linked Skills," however I think our perspectives are a little different.
